Her black eyes filled with the love she wrote:
"I'm not insane, I'm sorry I have to go."
These walls are painted red, she put a bullet in her head.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye is all she said.

I saw the truth, mom's a whore.
Full Name: Giselle Insigna Yaxley Wilkes de la Vega McEntire Avery Derrick. Though she goes simply by Elle Avery now.
Giselle: Derived from the Germanic element gisel meaning "hostage" or "pledge". This is the name of a well-known ballet by Adolphe Adam.
Insignia: A symbol or token of personal power, status or office, or of an official body of government or jurisdiction. Insignia are especially used as an emblem of a specific or general authority.
Yaxley: Yaxley is a small village just west of Eye in Suffolk, England. The name means 'cuckoo-clearing'.
Nicknames: Usually there is only Gissy.
Birthday: May 5th, 1958
Age: 27
Bloodline: Ugh. A Pureblood of course
Affiliation: Death Eater
Alumni: She attended Beauxbatons for her seven years even as Gemma attended Hogwarts. Gissy did really nothing while in school but her work when she got around to it.
Wand: 13 inches, Poplar with a hair of a Siren and is held in her right hand.
Those born between these two dates also fall under the lesser influence of a secondary tree...the Poplar, whose motto is "Overcome Doubt" or "The Uncertainty." Poplar individuals have a decorative appearance but tend lack self-confidence. They are prone to mature very quickly and assimilate things equally as quickly. Displaying courage only when absolutely necessary and hostile only toward extremists, the narrow-minded or hotheads, Poplar people prefer the goodwill of others and pleasant surroundings. This individual can be somewhat choosy, is often lonely and may harbor great animosity toward others. Artistic by nature, they are good organizers who lean toward philosophy. Reliable in almost any given situation, Poplar people cherish their friends and surround them with love. They take partnerships very seriously but are inclined to be generous only toward those who are generous in return. The life of a Poplar individual is made of judicious transactions and all manner of exchanges. If the Poplar perceives a warm and friendly atmosphere, then the heart and spirit opens...if not, then he or she will withdraw.

I saw the mark as she passed through the door.
Home: Currently dwells in the Yaxley Manor in Monaco, but keeps a few flats. One in Paris and one in London. Giselle does love the cold though, she spent quite a bit of her life on the beaches in the South of France and she rather enjoys running around in the snow now. Her favourite home as of the moment though, is a small flat at the top of an old buisness skyscraper from around the 1900s. She has covered it in small twinkle lights and refuses to allow people to know the location of it. There is no way of getting there unless knowing where it is. It isn't protected really in anyway, there are no wards, there is simply no way of getting into the flat with out apparating in. There is also her suite at the Crillion. It is located on the foot of the Champs-Élysées at No. 10 on the north end of Place de la Concorde. She uses it as her main home while in Paris, even though she has a flat there as well. Giselle can also be found, at many times, in the Derrick manor in Manchester as well as a manor in Wiltshire.

Mother: Nimue De La Crews. Nimue was never in love with Dorian and cared little of her family. She was born into a small but wealthy Pureblood family in France, only a few generations of Pureblood in her line but still a union with the Yaxley family seemed important. So they were married and she Nimue was soon giving birth to Giselle, their first born. There was disappointment all around as it wasn't a boy, Nimue left Giselle to be taken care of by nannies and went along with her life. She lost her eye to Giselle for the act of walking into her daughter's room and looking around. Since then, she hasn't even tried to care what Giselle does and simply doesn't even act like she has a child called Giselle.
Father: Dorian Yaxley. Dorian cared little for Giselle, though he did love her in his own way. He died for what he did to her, for the times that he spent teaching her how he believed she should act. She turned out rather well for the life she came from and the scars on her body all came from this man. Though, in reality, she is the child of Nimue and Christophe Derrick, Dorian was aware of this from the beginning.
Siblings: Marius Lucien Yaxley. He is six years her younger and she has never really formed any sort of relationship with him. Though, she does consider him her dealer and will go to him to get her things that she can't get anywhere else. She also has Bastien Yaxley as well, but he's, well, a bastard.
Children: Grace Pixie Yaxley, formally Mireille Babet de la Crews. She goes by Zander though, but Giselle allowed Zander to pick her own name and she rather enjoys the idea of Zander. She likes Zs. Giselle came up with Grace and Zander came up with Pixie. Her so called birthday falls on April 9th and they just go with the idea that she was born in 1978, or that is at least what Giselle decided. Zander is the spitting image of Giselle, or at least when Giselle was little. Long dark brown hair with large blue eyes with rather perfect teeth coming in slowly. Skinny like all Yaxley blood but a fighter. She has taken Giselle as a mother easily and if one asked her, she would tell you that she much rather would stay with Giselle then go home to her own family.
She also has her own child, a six year old named Lisette Placide Wilkes, but called Twiggy. Twiggy is from Giselle's arranged marriage which ended badly ages ago because of a falling apart. Her father keeps custody of Twiggy allowing visits when he feels it necessary for Giselle to see her daughter. She has the same blue eyes as Giselle and her blonde hair as well, Augustin and Giselle both being rather light in colour. She is the more quiet one out of the two girls but won't hesitate to throw something when she gets mad. She does have Giselle's temper after all. She was born September 30, 1978.
Also she gave birth to Ethan Yaxley-Derrick on May 23, 1984. He lives with Julian as per the custody agreement.
On August 24th 1985, Giselle gave birth to Caspian Julien and Anise Toinette. They both carry Yaxley as their last name though she refuses to say who the father is.
Heritage: French, on both sides thank you very much.

I saw the truth, you're a whore.
Financial Status: Wealthy, very much so.
Background: She was born, that is all there is to say about the first few months of her life. Not even her family took a pause from what they did on a daily basis because there was a child in the house. There were nannies, elves and things of that nature to take care of the little girl that tended to scream more often than necessary. A nursery of yellow and black called back images of bees, it was never approved by Giselle's mother but made simply on a day when Dorian was flipping through paint chips and threw two together. And so that was how Giselle became used to the word, left on her own to cry into her pillow full of bees. It wasn't to say that she didn't have the best in everything starting from that age. Her crib inlaid with gold, her clothing costing more than a normal persons yearly wardrobe, and always with a perfect little ribbon tied into the mess of black curls that invaded the little girls blue eyes, everyone told the family she would lose both. The eyes would darken and the hair would fall out, they were only half right. Three months later and the black hair had turned blonde but they blue eyes never changed. Her first steps, her first words, 'Mama' if one wanted to know really, went unnoticed. A passing comment from the team of nannies to the family and received with small nods and given permission to bring the little girl on more outings around the town. Giselle didn't know any better, she was still a baby, this was normal to her.

She grew quickly, the time she spent laying on her back in her crib passed with a blink of an eye. There is really only one thing she remembers from her time before speech, before her mind was fully formed. The one night when a rather large storm rolled across France and she was scared. The wind and the thunder threated to rip the roof off of her wing and the doors leading to the balcony, she was sure, were going to blow in and take her up into the storm. She ran out of her room, feeling the walls to try and see where she was going. Pushing open the door to her parents room, she padded in quietly and tapped her father on the shoulder, her doll clutched to her chest and tears rolling down her face. It was the last thing she can really be sure of that night as she woke up with a large gash down her side and the twitches she now knows as the after effects of Crucio. It was the first time she can remember any sort of magic used in the family, for many years she only believed this was a dream and so she only thought of it as in the past and the scar from something else. Giselle didn't want to try and understand what happened.

She was ready to move along in life before anyone else was and by the time she was three, she had started scribbling away at little pieces of paper she was provided from her father's office when he was too busy to take her to the park to play with really anything of the store house of toys she had. Her mother too busy with other things that were never really discovered, Giselle simply sat in silence, her fingers smudged with crayons and pastels that she was given. Presents from her family that had no idea how old she was, this would continue for years. Globes, books she couldn't read, clothing that never fit or was styled for a child either much too young or much too old tended to be the most received gifts over holidays. Birthdays were a different matter, those passed without talk, though the nannies would always make some cake and ice cream and put on the small celebration in Giselle's playroom which took up most of the West wing of the manor. Paper hats and confetti and hand written cards brought a smile to the child's face and presents that she could actually use. A doll here and there, a pair of black dress shoes she had reached for while in town and more colours that she couldn't eat. They all beat out the spyglass given to her by her father.

Though, there was soon another addition to the family, a small dark haired little brother that disrupted Giselle's life. The nannies were taken away, a girl of six didn't need them after all, she was fully grown in the eyes of the Yaxley family and she was discouraged from interacting with the precious male child. The apple of his fathers eye and the one that didn't scream at all hours of the night, the quiet son that they would much rather of had first. Giselle was left alone in her room, colours and dolls mended as best as she could on her own to keep her occupied. Piano lessons came next, something for her to at least attempt to do well in, unknown to her mother who would just scream at her that she had to clean up her scales or that she wasn't play Chopin quick enough, she enjoyed it and had her own piano installed in her playroom. Soon her days were filled with her own music, something that she could actually do. The bees were replaced with a very pale pink colour, the only mark that she was no longer a child that needed her life depicted by nannies. The black would stay constant through out her time in the manor. The only change when she turned eight was that her family added books to her bookshelves, she was given the ability to start learning just why her family was the way it was. Until now, she had no idea of the difference between muggles and wizards, she in fact didn't even know she could do magic. True there were spills from her colours that would clean themselves, times when her dolls would somehow regain the arm that was torn off, but she always thought she was just dreaming those things. But books were as good as it would get at that point. She would have to wait until she was older to get a wand.

Except she didn't. At age nine, she paid one of her brother's nannies to go with her into Paris and selected her own wand, the same one she carries to this day. Hidden under her pillow and kept away from the prying eyes of her family, just in case they wanted to actually see what she got up to, Giselle soon learned how to work most of the spells in the books she had in her room and would challenge herself daily to learn something new each day. This continued until she came to the age of eleven and she was shipped away to school that fall. Except, three days before she left, she removed her own mother's eye. She had always had a bit of a mean streak, demanding to get her own way and being able to get away with it from the nannies or the ghost like presence of her family in her life up until now, she hadn't taken well to her mother digging in her room. In an outrage that Nimue had found her stash of drawings, she jumped up and pressed her small fingers around her mother's left eye. Pulling it out with her own fingers, Giselle was shocked when she looked at the small white ball in her hand, she hadn't really meant to do it. There was no punishment, it was never discussed in the family and her mother simply procured an eye patch.

School was easy for her, the blue hat attached firmly to her head and the light blue silk uniform of Beauxbatons seemed to be made for her. Classes in French and more friends than she knew what to do with waited for her each day she woke up. It was during Valentine's day that Giselle found her first boyfriend, the time she slept with him, and the time that she won't forget. Though, she had no memory of his name any longer. Somehow the rumors spread and somehow her father found out and by the time she returned home, a smile on her face ready to go back to her solitude in her wing, she was met by her father whom simply pulled her trunk out of her hand and her hat off of her head. Disgusted with her, they rode home in silence and it wasn't until she arrived back home that she understood. There had always been a small greenhouse in the garden, toward the back, a few windows knocked out, ivy growing into and out of each small hole. It was there that Giselle was told she would be spending the summer. At first she believed it to be a joke, and laughed but as she turned away from the greenhouse to look back at her father, she found him gone. She did try to reenter the manor, but found it locked. Every window and every door was sealed and she was forced to understand that this was what she was expected to do. It wasn't too horrid at times, the silence was good for her, she had been allowed a few things, books, her journal, her pastels, things she needed to get by. Though, at night it was worse. There were constant storms, the whole greenhouse would rattle keeping her awake at all times, she nearly went mad from it all. A month and a half of this punishment and she was allowed back inside. The message was clear though, she was now old enough to deal with punishments from her actions. She was expected to uphold the Yaxley name and what she had done wasn't something Dorian was going to take lightly.

That was the easiest punishment she received for her actions. There were times when Giselle was sure she didn't do a thing, times when she hadn't even breathed when her father would turn on her. To this day, Giselle isn't really sure why he did it, though she believes it was simply to prove that he was in charge of her life, that everything she did was going to have to be up to his standards. Needless to say, by the time her fourth year rolled around, Giselle was rather well versed in recovery from Crucio. It was the Christmas during her fourth year that everything changed again, it was then that Gemma moved in with her and then that she was expected to show the new girl the rules of the house. Giselle refused. She no longer cared if things went well for Gemma, the subject of her fathers attacks for so long, she only could think what would happen to Gemma now. She knew her father had his eyes on her cousin, she knew what he would do, but she didn't warn the frightened white haired duplicate of herself. Gemma couldn't help Giselle, so why would Giselle want to help her.

Finally, her school years over, Gemma being tossed out a year before due to a rather upsetting night of torture for Giselle and Gemma flat out refusing to take anymore any longer. Giselle moved out as well, far away from her family and far away from her father. Though, he would never understand that he couldn't control her. The years of isolation, the desire to prove herself more than just a forgotten child, and the want to feel something other than silence drove her to a part of her past she doesn't desire to relive. Hooked badly on cocaine, she fell in love with an interesting pureblood male of James Potter and continued to use until she could no longer control herself. Her body wasting away, her mind destroyed, she was sent into rehab. She hated every moment of it, forced to interact and come to some sort of understanding of her past, Giselle simply kept to herself and demanded that she was just fine. She was let out six months later and kept herself quiet in her manor in Monaco bought with her families money.

Years passed, she really did nothing but grow her business. She became well known in circles for her inventive potions, things that she did her best to create out of items that people didn't usually put together. It was then that she came up with her best idea, the ability to crystallize potions and make them react in liquids. It took years for her to be able to keep the same effects over time, stabilization on the materials was difficult, but she finally did it. She now refuses to carry vials with her anywhere and has created items of jewelry for herself to wear made up of the most potent potions she has. She makes enough from her creations to keep her very wealthy even without her families name attached to her own.

Distill the scene and don't lie to me no more.
Personality: Giselle has been called quite a few things during her time in the world. She considers herself a home wrecker, a heart breaker and a slut when really she isn't any of those. Giselle tends to follow her heart more often than her mind and her desire more often than that. Nothing is more attractive to her than something she can't have, be it a pair of shoes or a man. She demands strange sorts of reassurances from those she is around to make herself feel better and calls people on their lack of substance when she is quite shallow at times. It isn't to say that she can not carry on a decent conversation with someone, she simply doesn't think it's all the necessary. Giselle is much smarter than she puts on and even more intelligent than most people believe, she likes her secrets. There are few that know of her talents. Her potion business run out of the view of the public, her piano lessons from a young age kept in her own study for her own ears and her doodles that she believes are rubbish hidden in a room in Monaco.

She's a slightly more complex person that many know, she puts off the appearance of being nothing more than a pureblooded bitch with a desire to find the best shoes and the best in life, when deep down she simply sits at home, a pair of black rimmed square glasses perched on her nose and her fingers poised over the ivory of her piano or twisted around a pencil. She craves to be more than she is, suffering from a deep insecurity. Giselle believes that all of the attention payed to her is pointless and that the men that she draws to herself just want something out of her, usually she only believes they want into her bed and she agrees simply to continue her appearance. She flirts easily, woos with just a flick of her eyelashes and causes dramatic rifts in relationships when she can get away with it. Though, she knows her limits. She knows where to draw the line in such an attack and she keeps her heart hidden under it all trying not to give it away to anyone. She does throw around the words of love quickly, falling fast for someone that can keep up with her, though the true feeling comes very rarely in her life.

She is a very isolated person deep down, rather enjoying just staying home or in one of her other flats floating around the world and entertaining just one or two people that she feels closest too. Giselle keeps many of her homes a secret, liking the idea of being able to escape from people if she needs to. She also will run to former lovers homes if something is wrong in her life, knowing that the bond she had with them hasn't gone. She very rarely returns to her home in Nice, the home of her father isn't somewhere she feels comfortable in and when she ends up at home, there is always a problem she doesn't want to confront. Though she is a very outspoken Death Eater and no one would dare question her choice in the war, she does have a few things she has stolen from muggles. She does own a telly and does have a fondness for movies, most of the time some obscure film directed by Jean-Luc Godard as he's her current favourite.
Fears: Thunder and the loss of her freedom.
Habits: She is addicted to cigarettes and lattes and will nearly always be found with both in her hand. She also bites her lip peeling off her chapped bits with her teeth and flicking them away with her nails. She also has the rather horrid habit of skipping meals. It isn't that she does it on purpose in an attempt to lose weight, she simply forgets to eat. Giselle also can nearly always be found sitting on ledges, standing on the edge of buildings, and demanding that she be placed on the top floor of any hotel she stays in. She lives for the thrill of the heights and spent many a day perched on top of the top rung of her balcony, her legs dangling down toward the ground and a cigarette in her hand.
Mental Health: Giselle could not really be considered sane so much as she can be considered insane with large pockets of sanity. While drinking she can be found believing that things are watching her, plotting her demise and her worry tends to overtake her mind. She also has PTSD from her experiences in childhood dating back to when her father first attacked her. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a term for certain severe psychological consequences of exposure to, or confrontation with, stressful events that the person experiences as highly traumatic. Clinically, such events involve actual or threatened death, serious physical injury, or a threat to physical and/or psychological integrity, to a degree that usual psychological defenses are incapable of coping with the impact. She has constant nightmares and flashbacks of her childhood and dealing with her father, most commonly appearing during a thunderstorm, but it can also be brought on simply by someone saying something she connects with her father.

Testing on her mental state while in Azkaban has provided the following results, though she has refused to really listen to them: "Capable of acting sane and rational unless pressed into stressful situations. Should be watched and suggest to place on medication to control stress thus keeping insane and illogical reactions from occurring." Though not realized until her time in Bellgreen, Giselle has finally discovered to have Histrionic personality disorder. It is a personality disorder characterized by a pattern of excessive emotionality and attention-seeking, including an excessive need for approval and inappropriate seductiveness, usually beginning in early adulthood. The symptoms of HPD are: Constant seeking of reassurance or approval. Excessive dramatics with exaggerated displays of emotions. Inappropriately seductive appearance or behavior. Excessive concern with physical appearance. A need to be the center of attention (self-centeredness). Low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification. Rapidly shifting emotional states that may appear shallow to others. Tendency to believe that relationships are more intimate than they actually are. Make rash decisions and threaten or attempt suicide to get attention. Giselle also has Vasovagal syncope brought on by high levels of stress and the fact that her body has never recovered from The Sick that threated to kill her nearly a year ago. With Vasovagal syncope, people typically have recurrent episodes, usually when exposed to a specific trigger, for which Giselle's is stress and a loss of control. Prior to losing consciousness, the individual frequently experiences a prodrome of symptoms such as lightheadedness, nausea, sweating, ringing in the ears, and visual disturbances. These last for at least a few seconds before consciousness is lost, which typically happens when the person is sitting up or standing. When they pass out, they fall down; and when in this position, effective blood flow to the brain is immediately restored, allowing the person to wake up.

Giselle has also been diagnosed with Dermatillomania, which is an obsessive compulsive disorder characterized by the repeated urge to pick at one's own skin, often to the extent that damage is caused. Sufferers of dermatillomania find skin picking to be stress relieving or gratifying rather than painful. Most commonly, she attacks her own stomach and hips in one of her picking attacks which are brought on by stress. Also, in the same vein, she has a slight case of Trichotillomania which is second to her Dermatillomania in her mindset. If she can not get to her skin, she'll attack her own scalp. It's the repeated urge to pull out scalp hair, eyelashes, facial hair, nose hair, pubic hair, eyebrows or other body hair. Also, thanks to a bit of a crazy time in her life after she was released from Beauxbatons, Giselle picked up an addiction for cocaine and has yet to be able to beat the addition yet. Psychological dependency occurs when a drug has been used habitually and the mind has become emotionally reliant on its effects, either to elicit pleasure or relieve pain, and does not feel capable of functioning without it. Its absence produces intense cravings, which are often brought on or magnified by stress. A dependent person may have either aspects of dependency, but often has both. After using for nearly a year straight, Giselle was placed into rehab but was released six months later when she realized she no longer wished to be there.
Boggart Form: A storm cloud.
Patronus: A small bird. Though, she hardly ever uses it.

She wears make-up to hide the shame
Height: Five feet eight inches. Giselle somehow lucked out of the height of the Yaxley clan and ended up at a very normal height for a female. Though, she wears heels nearly all the time to make up for that.
Weight: She refuses to state what weight she is, but she is built like a twig and her wrist is quite small enough for someones hand to fit around more than once. It isn't that she doesn't eat, she eats quite a bit, she just takes very good care of herself and watches her weight. Though, her family is very thin but Giselle lives on lattes and cigarettes with the occasional yogurt and salad to offset the fact that neither of the first two things are really food.
Eyes: Giselle has very round deep blue eyes with just a touch of green to them. There are times, in the right lighting, that she can appear to have green eyes though that is just a trick of the light. She doesn't like to admit it, but she does need glasses. She owns a pair of simple black framed glasses she only wears alone but she can be found squinting a bit off and on.
Hair: It has been called, by many, blonde but Giselle refuses to accept the fact that she is a blonde and calls it a very light brown. She has toyed with darker hair before and for a few months did have very dark, nearly espresso brown hair. She has since allowed her hair to go back lighter.
Face & Complexion: Pale unless she comes back from holiday, she tans easily. Though she has accepted the fact that she is very French and very pale. She has a slightly moonshaped face, though it is offset by very high cheekbones and a chin that ends in a bit more of a point than she'd like. Giselle's eyes sit a bit further back in her head than most, giving her a bit of a strung out look. She nearly, at all times, has chapped lips she picks at with her teeth.
Distinguishing Features: Giselle has a few tattoos and moles that are easily found her on body. A small cracked mirror appears on her left hip bone with a trailing piece of ivy and a nearly unnoticeable key on the top of her right foot. The key is in the style of the old key to her room at her home at her father's manor. An old metal key more twisted than anything with a simple three prongs on the front. The mirror and ivy is created out of grey and silver with a small hint of sea green. There's a meaning behind it that she refuses to tell.
Dress Style: Giselle doesn't desire to look like anyone else and if she can do that by her clothing alone, she will. She hates wearing hats, refuses on all occasions to do so, but when she is sick or upset, she can be found hiding under a knit hat and giant sunglasses. Quite fond of just wearing jeans and a jumper, Giselle will often have something that calls back to her days as a society girl. A Prada bag, a pair of expensive heels, something that costs more than she'd like to admit. But she is quite fond of having oddball items as well. A Soviet flag belt buckle, a black Nazi dress wool coat, and other random things that cause a stir are things she enjoys wearing. The more offensive the more she'll want to wear it. Her shoes usually are a pair of beat up trainers, if they are light coloured she has used markers and doodled on them her designs.
Possessions Always On Her Person: Cigarettes, a cinnamon and vanilla latte, her wand hidden somewhere, a worn out old string bracelet around her left ankle, a gold locket she received as a gift, and if she is doing something for dangerous a small gold bracelet with a strange pattern of what appears to be gemstones across it.
Manner of Speech: She carries a very thick French accent on her lips.
Matter of Movement: Giselle waltzes when she walks.
Favorite Color: A deep eggplant colour. Basically a purple so dark that it is black.
Favorite Book: Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
Favorite Music: Classical, most importantly Bach.
Favorite Subject: Potions
Favorite Scent: Coffee.
Pets: Armand Gabriel Beauregard Yaxley, a white Persian kitten, called Beau. A small Japanese Spitz named Louis whom was a gift from Julian. A cream coloured European Burmese kitten she transfigured from a couch called Puss in Boots, a Dalmatian puppy that Zander brought home from somewhere called Igor and a white Great Pyrenees named George that seems to eat everything in sight.

Her sanity rides low and self esteem won't grow
Romantic Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: Bi
Partner: To be honest? Mostly Sioned Derrick.
Turn Ons: Giselle wants someone that will stand up to her. Someone that won't allow her to stomp her feet and get away with everything. She needs someone that can of course put up with her and her insanity as Giselle does not seem to be the most sane of the family at times. Someone that will give in just enough to keep her happy but keep things she demands for no reason out of her grasp.
Turn Offs: Someone who doesn't understand her. It takes forever for people to get into the inner workings of her mind and she will never be totally sane, but those that dismiss her as nothing more than an airheaded whore will never be someone she wants to be around.
Crushes On: Really no one right now.

Mun: Emma
Played By: Sasha Pivovarova (Giselle), Aki Hakala (Marius Lucien Yaxley), Bill Nighy (Dorian), Daryl Hannah (Nimue), AnnaSophia Robb (Twiggy), Julia Winter (Zander)
Font: Velvet (Giselle), Anywhere (Marius), Pea Melissa (Twiggy), Pea Martha (Zander)
Font Examples
Credits: All graphics made by gemius, animations from Pivovarovist as well as original photos.
